Inhouse Process Plan for your Reference for Machining as per DRG.
Check the raw material and allowances for the machining.
Set the job on marking table and mark the centre line and machining allowances on the job.
Set the job on Lath / Milling / VMC machine by holding it on True ID/OD at both ends within 0.5 to 1 mm.
Check the face out and take clean cut.
Remove the job and rest the machined face on the chuck.
Carry out further machining as per drawing maintaining 2 mm machining allowance all over to the tool point.
Take dial reading on machined ID/OD and face of the job. Confirm that readings are within 0.02 TIR.
Inspect and record the machined sizes.
Check the casting defects all over the job.
Mark the defects and rectify them if observed.
Prepare the fixture to maintain the concentricity of the job all over.
Set the fixture and machine it to take the guide for the size.
After Machining the fixture, guide the job on the fixture to ensure the concentricity of the job.
Confirm the dial gauge reading after setting the job on the fixture.
Finish the job as per drawing.
While machining the job from rough stage to finish stage, periodically inspection should be Carried out and maintain the record for each and every job. ( for e.g. concentricity, parallelism, perpendicularity, flatness, surface finish, Sizes, center line, centre distance.)
